CHAIRMAN'S  MESSAGE

Bidada Sarvoday Trust Hospital

Twenty-five years back, we a group of trusted social workers came together to render humanitarian services to rural population of Kutch district and we thought that the best possible services is to render medical relief not only to Kutch district but also to other parts of Gujarat State.

Hence the idea of medical camp crystilised. It started as a modest beginning in 1975 with Eye and Dental services at Bidada Panjrapor. In the first camp we came to know the sufferings of the people and the inadequate medical facilities for treating the population of Kutch and Gujarat.

Hence we decided to organize such type of medical camps every year. After 8 years of holding the camp and knowing the needs of the people of Kutch, we decided to build a full fledged Hospital with Dental &  Opthalmolgoy Departments. It also had a Dispensary to dispense medicines to rural poor population.

Later  we added Cardiac, ENT, Orthopedic, Skin, Cancer & other specialized branches for diagnosis and treatment. During this specialized camps we found the need to send patients for further treatment to Mumbai. So far we have sent a number of patients to Mumbai predominantly in Cardiac Surgery where all help financially and socially is rendered by our trust.

In January 1999 at the Silver Jubilee Camp we had the great pleasure of the presence of the Honourable Ambassador of U.S.A.to India Mr. Richard Celeste who was the chief guest and inaugurated the camp. The vice-counsel of  U.S.A.to Mumbai Mr. Frank Huddle also graced the occasion by his presence. Other dignitaries who visited Bidada during Silver Jubilee Camp were Mr.Daniel Museila-Deputy Speaker of Kenya Parliament, Mr.and Mrs. Saubhyagyachand Shah of Thikka, Kenya.

The success of any medical camp depends upon four main pillars viz. Donors, Doctors, Volunteers and last but not the least patients. During last 25 years support we have had from these four pillars is unimaginable. The faith and affection bestowed upon us by the people of Kutch is so intense that we cannot describe this in words.
