To, The Honorable Minister,

Dear Sir,

Subject: An appeal from Panjokutch.com.

This is to bring to your notice that we are a non-commercial organization working under the umbrella of Late Savita K. Shah charitable trust running a web portal viz www.Panjokutch.com which is working for the Kutch and Kutchi people. The portal is serving the Kutchi community in all possible respects.

In view of the recent earthquake disaster, which has ruined the lives of lakhs of people, we are constantly interacting with various people in Kutch and have posted the latest information available about the earthquake-affected areas on our site. It is brought to our notice that due to the collapse of several buildings and similarly heavy damage to thousands of houses the wealth and assets of people are being stolen and misappropriated. It is very disappointing that such incidents are occurring in a critical situation where people have become homeless and are starving for food.

No doubt the government is doing its best, but it is found that while removing the debris the property of real residents is looted as soon as it is removed. Many NGO’s and other social institution are working day and night for this cause. There by it is our humble request to the government to take the help of this institution, which are experienced in understanding and dealing our Kutchi Community.

We suggest the following plan of action:

  • Avail I-Cards to our volunteers, which will reduce the load of the government.
  • While removing the debris, 5 policemen and at least 2 volunteers of the recognized NGO’s should be present there. And the recoveries from debris and bodies should be written down and Panchnama be made accordingly. The copy of the same will remain with the NGO’s representatives.
  • Preserve and maintain the articles unless the real owners are found. The distribution of the same will be done in the presence of NGO’s representatives.

This system will bring high level of trust for the government among the people. Also the transparency in the process will be helpful in maintaining the status and respect of the government servant. In this respect, we suggest you enclosed (in regional language) authentic and reputed institution and the number passes to be allotted to give you a helping hand.

I hope you will understand and accept our suggestion positively and extend us best possible help. We expect to set the best example in front of the world where government and social institution works hand in hand for upliftment of the Society.

Thanking you in anticipation,

Yours truly,

 Panjokutch.com
