Now the time calls for Long term planning to Reconstruct
Kutch of 2050.
The whole infrastructure is required to be set up all over again
and thus we propose to develop various ports of Kutch, which will be
instrumental in not only spurring the growth of the region, but will also
open up new avenues for flourishing The International Trade of India. Ours is a NGO
working for the benefit of the Society via totally non-commercial web
portal www.panjokutch.com. This site is launched only few months
back under the umbrella of Savita K. Shah Charitable Trust but the
response achieved is unimaginable. Many of our sections like Matrimonial,
Religion, Health, Help Line, Achievements, etc. have received tremendous
response from The Media World and The Society at large. We have planned out many projects for setting up New Infrastructure and Resettlement of Kutch. And we are proud to declare that Our Projects have been appreciated and accepted by many.
The need has also arisen to develop various ports scientifically & thereby also develop the backward areas of Kutch economically and socially. An Excellent Guide of pre independence period and An Inspirer to establish Gujarat’s first port- Kandla, Late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel have always dreamt of developing other ports of Kutch. In ancient times before Independence; Lakhpat,
Jakhau, Mundra and Mandvi ports were the main commercial ports of India.
Ports were also there at Indus and Saraswati River. Dholavira,
Bhachau, Jangi, etc. were also the ports of its time but are now
displaced due to Earthquake. Before Mumbai, Mandvi was No. 1 Port of
India. Jakhau- Trambavati was once a full-fledged commercial port. Today Jakhau is developed for fishery business. Riyanpadam was also one of renowned port near Mandvi. Also internal trade extended up to Malabar and Cochin in India. |
