For
shine wash clothes with boiled potato water. -
Starch
woollen clothes with rice water. -
To
remove wrinkles, soak silk clothes in glycerine added water. -
To
maintain whiteness, soak white silk clothes in turpentine added water. -
Woollen
& colourful clothes should be washed with aritha water. -
To
avoid insects in woollen clothes keep neem leaves or kalijeeri & cloves tied
in cloth. -
For
softness of woollen clothes wash them in glycerine water. -
To
fasten colour of clothes, soak them in salty water for 1hr. or wash with vinegar.

Iron
jari sari after keeping news paper on it, to avoid from getting black. -
Iron
painted clothes, embroidery on opposite side. -
Avoid
ironing buttons & elastic part of garment. -
To
increase brightness of fade embroidery, rub alum powder on it. -
Never
hang sweater in sunlight. -
To
avoid insects, never keep silky cloth with warm cloth. -
Soak
sweater in salty water before washing it, to avoid sticking of woollen. -
Washing
white clothes with alum water prevents it from getting yellowish. -
Close
first button of shirt & fold collar like at a time of wearing, & then
wash in washing machine, or rub shampoo for proper wash of collar. -
Remove
rust marks on cloth with sour curd & lemon juice & than scrub in hot water
or soak in excess water of cooked rice. -
Always
wrap Jari cloth in thin cotton cloth. -
Drop
of glycerin in water at the time of washing thoroughly washes blanket. |

GENERAL CLEANING
TIPS |
- To remove stains
from table clean with acetic acid & water.
- Clean
floor, fan with kerosene water.

To clean kitchen flooring put 2 tsp soda-bi-carb on wet sponge, rub on floors,
then wash off after few min.
- Clean
plastic bottles / shopping bags by keeping them in bleach water for 4-5 min.
- To
clean choked up sink add table salt & then pour hot water on it.
- Idli
stand can be cleaned with toothbrush.
- Sticky
dirt & blocking of pipes can be removed by pouring hot salty water in it.
- To
prevent scratches on vessel, glasses, wash basin etc. wash it with old socks.
- To
remove stuck wax from carpet, keep paper on it & iron it slowly.
- After
washing cloth with liquid blue, use that water or toothpowder mixed water for
cleaning the floor.
- Soak
the empty detergent bag in water & use it to clean washbasin.
- Dissolve
small pieces of soap in hot water & use that liquid to wash hands
- To
remove stickiness wash hands with soap & icing sugar
- Nail
polish remover removes name from gift article.
- Clean
flask with hot water for its long life.
- Clean
leather article with cotton dipped in glycerin for its softness & long life.
- Washing
car with hot water & some paraffin gives protective shine.

BUGS & PESTS AWAY |
- Smoke of neem leaves
or used tea or pieces of sugarcane dipped in mustard oil with ajwain keeps mosquitoes,
flies away.
- Applying
clove oil on body keeps mosquitoes away.
- To
keep cockroaches away keep tablets of boric acid & maida or limestone.
- Alum
powder or mint keeps rats away.
- Turmeric,
mint stem, mixture of neem oil in ½ cup of water or alum water keeps ants
away.
- Sprinkle
kerosene mixed with soap on the place where mosquitoes accumulate.
- Sprinkling
sindhalun powder keeps red ants away.
- Keeping
cloves tied in cloth, keeps ants away.
- While
filling cotton in mattresses, pillows add camphor in it to get cooling effect
& keep pests away.
- Dried
lemon rinds or neem leaves in wooden cupboard keeps bugs away.
- Take
salt in cloth & clean the dining table with it, to avoid bees.

- For everlasting
shine keep ornaments in cotton or clean with e-de-cologne.
- Clean
silver utensils with soda sprinkled on cloth or ashes of burnt paper or aritha.
- Alum
or camphor tablets in silver articles prevent it from getting black.
- Clean
gold & silver utensils with toothpaste.
- To
maintain shine clean pearl ornaments with olive oil.
- For
shine, clean diamond with talcum powder or chock.
- Gold
ornaments shine, when boiled in 2 arithas & turmeric powder or washed with
onion water.
- To
remove knot in gold chain apply little talcum powder on it.
- To
maintain shine keep chalk pieces with artificial jewellery.
- Boil
silver jewellery in water containing tamarind pulp for shine.

- Clean mirror with
wet newspaper or kerosene.
- Before
pouring hot liquid in glass keep steel sp. in, to avoid breaking.
- Use
kachpaper(rough paper)to open tighted cap of bottles & jars.
- Wash
bottles with mustard water to remove smell.
- Keep
glass bangles in hot water & then cool it, to last longer.
- Glass
windows can be cleaned with used & dried tea powder.
- To
remove stickiness of child's milk bottle, wash with cold water & few uncooked
rice.
- Wash
bottle with boiled vegetable water, to remove dirt & smell.
- Salt
& ice removes dirt stuck in corner of china clay vessel.
- Cleaning
of crockery item with warm water increase its brightness.

- Applying salt removes
bloodstains.w
- To
remove betel leaf (pan) stains first rub with limestone then with bleaching powder
& then with lemon or curd.
- Use
toothpaste to remove curry stain. wTo remove ball pen ink stains apply nail polish
remover or sprinkle talcum powder.
- Soak
clothes in ammonia (navsaar) water or wash with water containing 2-3 tablets of
aspirin or dispirin to remove perspiration stains.
- To
remove turmeric stains wash with soap & ammonia & then dry it.
- Hair
dye stains on body can be removed with e-de-cologne or scrub onion juice.
- Hair
dye stain over cloth can be removed with glycerin after soaking that part in water
for some time.
- Drop
of clove oil in toothpaste removes teeth stain. wSalty water removes sticky marks
from the cloth.
- Tea
marks can be easily removed with talcum powder or glycerin. wUse kerosene to remove
grease marks, yellowish ness of white cloth.
- To
remove catechu marks, scrub it with jaggery water & than wash it.
- Ghee
& oil marks on cloth can be removed by ironing it after keeping bloating paper
& thin cloth on it.
- Apply
eucalyptus over lipstick marks before washing. wIce removes chewing gum marks.
- Kerosene
removes coal tar marks & paint marks from flooring.
- Petrol
removes marks from photographs. wRemove stains on fridge with warm water &
salt or cold water with eating soda.
