Corn Handvo
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup crushed maize(American yellow corn)
  • 1cup rice.
  • ½ cup red gram (tuver dal)
  • ½ cup green gram (moong dal)
  • 2 tsp Bengal gram (chana dal)
  • 2 tsp black gram (udad dal)
  • ½ cup sour curd.
  • 2 tsp eating soda.
  • Salt to taste.
  • 4teaspoon sugar.
  • 2 teaspoon red chilly powder.
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric.
  • 1 onion.
  • 2 tsp oil.
  • 2 whole red chilly piece.
  • 1 to 2 bay leaf.
  • A pinch asafetida.
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seed.
  • 1 tsp lemon juice.
  • 2 tsp coriander.
  • Make into pieces.
  • Serve it hot.

Method:

  • Chop onion.
  • Soak rice and dals for 2 hrs in 5 cup water.
  • Remove the water and blend it.
  • Make the medium paste(not too thick & not too loose)
  • Add water if necessary.
  • Let it ferment for 2 to 3 hrs.
  • Mix salt, sugar, red chilly, turmeric, maize, onion, coriander and green chilly in the ferment.
  • Heat the oven at 200o.
  • Sizzle whole red chilly, mustard seed, asafetida and bay leaf, in hot oil.
  • Mix eating soda, lemon juice and above items in the fermentation.
  • Apply oil in one tray and put the ferment.
  • Take a big tray.
  • Put some water in it and put the ferment tray on it.
  • Allow it to bake for 20 to 25 mins.
