  • 250 gm Gram flour.
  • Turmeric, red chilly powder, asafoetida.
  • Salt, kings cumin(Ajwain).
  • Water to make paste of flour.
  • Mix all the masalas in gram flour.
  • Put water in the mixture and make little thick paste.
  • Heat the pan and put some oil on it. If you are using non stick pan then oil is not required.
  • Then put 1 tb. Sp. of mixture on pan. Spread it in round shape with spoon.
  • Turn it when the down side get cooked.
  • Let the other side also get cooked for sometime.
  • Your Challa (Pudla) is ready.
  • Instead of gram flour paste, you can also make challa of paste made from black mung dal.
  • During routine days (i.e not during paryushan) you can add some vegetables like tomato, capsicum, onion, chopped coriander leaves etc.
