Pista Roll
Ingredients:
Covering:
  • 125 gm cashew nut (Powder)
  • 125 gm Mava (khoya)
  • 125 gm Sugar
  • Pistachio essence
  • Food colour - Green
  • Silver foil
Stuffing:
  • 2 tbsp Mava (khoya)
  • 25 gm Pista Powder
  • 8 - 10 Cardamoms
  • 10 gm charoli
  • Saffron (dissolved in water)
  • 25 gm Kaju
  • 3 - 4 Almonds
  • 2 - 3 tsp Ghee
  • 2 tbsp Powdered Sugar
 
Method:

Stuffing:

  • Crush all the ingredients of stuffing.
  • Heat ghee in a pan & roast mava in it for 2 minutes.
  • Remove from heat & cool & mix all the ingredients of stuffing in it.
  • Keep aside.
Rolls:
  • Separate mava.
  • Take sugar in a vessel & add water till sugar dips completely.
  • Boil sugar water to one stringed sugar syrup.
  • When done, add mava & heat for two minutes.
  • Then add crushed kaju or pistachio in it.
  • Stir till it starts leaving vessel.
  • Add color & essence.
  • Mix well.
  • To check, take a little mixer in a plate & roll it with finger if it binds itself into ball, its ready.
  • When done, remove from heat.
  • Dust your palms with powdered sugar & smash the mixer properly with palms & bind it.
  • Then place it in between two plastic bags & roll it into ¼ inch thick roll.
  • Cut it into pieces of 2 by 1 inch.
  • Keep the prepared stuffing in between & wrap it into a roll.
  • Prepare each roll in the same manner & cover them all with silver foil.
